NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK
Greetings to you all in the name of our loving lord Jesus Christ!
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Holding this great commission, our founders, Rev. Dr. Chellaiah Russelliah and Mrs. Christobel Russelliah, started the Seminary in 1990. After building the first few churches themselves, the founders realized that they would need more laborers in the field to plant Churches among the unreached. ITS was founded with the vision of creating disciples who would combine formal theological training with evangelical principles, aiming to expand the Kingdom of God on earth. The students and faculty of Indian Theological Seminary participate in all aspects and programs of Gilgal Gospel Mission and its ministries. ITS received accreditation from the Asia Theological Association for B.Th. and M.Div. in the late 1990s and affiliation from the Senate of Serampore for B.Th. in 2000 and for B.D. in 2010. Also offers external programs with the Senate of Serampore BCS and DCS in 2022. ITS also have online and offline evening collage with different seminary programs. The Indian Theological Seminary serves as a backbone to the ministries of Gilgal Gospel Mission.
Since its inception in, Indian Theological Seminary (ITS) has been preparing Indian nationals for Christian missions and ministry by providing a holistic theological education with equal emphasis on academic and ministerial formation. GGM’s Indian Theological Seminary is a mission-minded institution with an emphasis on holistic theological education, practical ministry exposure, and spiritual life. ITS is committed to preparing India’s next generation of missionaries, pastors, scholars, and theological educators. In the current circumstances, updating the Biblical, Theological, ministerial, social, and all the practical knowledge of the curriculum is needed for all Christian ministers. ITS is giving the training with well-equipped teaching staff to train the committed students to face the current world.
