Indian Theological Seminary offers Evening College Courses to make theological education accessible to those who are engaged in employment, ministry, or active church life. These programmes are specially designed for lay people, working professionals, and ministry practitioners who desire systematic and meaningful theological learning without discontinuing their regular responsibilities.
The courses are offered in a flexible hybrid mode, with classes conducted offline on the Seminary campus as well as online through digital learning platforms. Classes are held once a week on Saturday evenings, enabling students to balance their academic pursuits with work, family, and ministry commitments. Students may join and study from anywhere, at any time, while remaining connected to a structured academic community.
Language of Instruction
The Evening College Courses are currently offered in English and Tamil. Based on student demand and feasibility, the Seminary may also offer these programmes in other vernacular languages, ensuring wider accessibility and contextual relevance.
TeachingβLearning Methodology
The Evening College Courses follow a non-examination-based learning model. Instead of formal written examinations, students are assessed through a continuous evaluation system, which includes:
β’ Assignments and written reflections
β’ Class participation and online engagement
β’ Ministry-based learning and practical application
β’ Periodic evaluations by faculty
This method emphasizes reflective, contextual, and practice-oriented theological education, rather than examination-centred learning.
